Abstract

COVID-19 (SARS-Cov-2) is a strain of the coronavirus family that has not previously been identified in humans. Coronaviruses cause different types of disease processes ranging from the common cold to more severe illnesses such as severe acute respiratory failure. On Wednesday, March 11, 2020, the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus, declared the COVID-19 situation a global pandemic.
