Welcome to the December 2023 issue of RETIC!
In this issue, we are pleased to present an editorial addressing the current state of artificial intelligence in diagnostic imaging. In addition, we have two excellent review articles: one focusing on prosthetic valve endocarditis and the other exploring current clinical applications of left atrial strain. The cases presented in this issue are, as always, spectacular and demonstrate the versatility of cardiac imaging. They include: the early diagnosis of cardiomyopathies using myocardial deformation techniques, a rupture of the anterolateral papillary muscle, a malignant pleomorphic sarcoma, a Gerbode-type defect after correction of an Ebstein's, the correction of an aortic arch interruption with a spectacular complication, a PTE in relation to anabolic intake, a pseudoaneurysm of the LV, a papillary fibroelastoma, a percutaneous mitral rim-to-rim repair, and a sepsis-induced cardiomyopathy. Finally, in our Trukipedia, we present: “A look at the aortic arch” from the suprasternal plane, a supracardiac partial anomalous pulmonary venous connection, the most common errors in the daily practice of sonocardiographers (part I) and a quadricuspid aortic valve.
