aorta, diameter.Abstract
The quantification of the size of the aorta requires an accurate precision and reproducibility since it constitutes an essential tool in clinical practice to evaluate the normality and abnormality of the blood vessel and establish the severity of its size, a fundamental parameter in clinical decisions making in several pathologies. Recently it has been published recommendations supported by the main scientific societies of echocardiography that explain how and where to take such measurements. In this article, we want to enumerate the guidelines for the correct acquisition of the diameters of the aorta that enable optimizing the usefulness of the echocardiography to assess this structure.
