Studying the right ventricle with echocardiography can be challenging. The coupling between the right ventricle and the pulmonary artery is a simple parameter that allows the hemodynamic load on the right ventricle to be easily assessed in all clinical scenarios. In this article we briefly review how it is calculated and how the result is interpreted.
