Welcome to the August 2022 issue of RETIC! We start with an editorial dedicated to the role of the echocardiography technician in the imaging laboratory. We continue with a spectacular review article on imaging in the athlete's heart and a review of the subvalvular mitral aneurysm. We invite you to review the case section, with examples of atrial septal hematoma, endocarditis, anomalous origin of the coronary arteries, 4D flow, constrictive pericarditis, and mitral regurgitation. We finish with tips on image optimization and the use of deep transgastric imaging
