Abstract

Valve prostheses are the definitive treatment for many advanced valve diseases; however, they are not free of complications. One such complication is the formation of pseudoaneurysms, a rare but probably underdiagnosed finding after aortic valve replacement. Echocardiography frequently presents limitations in the study of this pathology, because of the artifacts caused by the prostheses. Anatomical study using computed tomography can help us in these cases to determine its geometry, and its relationship with other structures; to identify risk situations, and to plan the surgical repair. In this article, we present a particular case of late-onset left ventricular outflow tractdependent pseudoaneurysm presenting decades after cardiac surgery.
