Abstract

We present a case of a 68-year-old patient referred to cardiology out patient clinic for further evaluation of deep vein thrombosis due to right chamber dilatation in CT The echocardiogram confirmed the dilation of the right chambers. The transesophageal echocardiogram showed an aneurysm of the atrial septum and a non-competent foramen ovale with a left-right shunt. The Qp / Qs by cardiac MR was 1.6. Despite the unfavorable anatomy,
the defect was closed percutaneously.
