Cardiac perforation caused by pacemaker lead is one of the less common complications after pacemaker implantation. Its severity justifies an early diagnosis in order to avoid fatal complications. In this article we report two cases of cardiac perforation caused by a temporary pacemaker lead. We describe the capability of cardiac CT with or without contrast to diagnose the presence of the pacemaker lead within the pericardial space or out of it.
