Resumen

El estudio de la deformación miocárdica (strain) mediante diferentes técnicas se ha consolidado como un biomarcador sensible de la función cardíaca, aportando información incremental respecto a parámetros tradicionales como la fracción de eyección o el cambio de área fraccional. La resonancia magnética cardíaca (RMC) ofrece ventajas únicas para su análisis gracias a su elevada resolución espacial, reproducibilidad y capacidad de caracterización tisular. El propósito de esta revisión es resumir los conceptos básicos de la deformación miocárdica, describir las principales técnicas disponibles para su cuantificación mediante RMC y destacar sus aplicaciones clínicas, limitaciones y perspectivas de futuro.
