right aortic arch.Abstract
A 32 year-old woman who practices competitive basketball was evaluated in a routine screening of cardiac disease. She had no relevant previous history and was asymptomatic. The physical examination had no relevant findings but the chest X-ray showed the absence of the aortic button and a right paratracheal radiopacity. The transthoracic echocardiography observed a right angulation of the aortic arch and a saccular image suggestive of Kommerel’s diverticulum (DK). These findings were compatible with the diagnosis of right aortic arch, that was confirmed by CT scan.
