Left atrial dissection (LAD) is a rare condition, typically associated with surgical interventions on the mitral valve (MV). We present the case of a 75-year-old male patient who underwent mitral valve replacement and developed intraoperative LAD. Additionally, we provide a brief review of the literature to contextualize this clinical event.
