Abstract

Total anomalous pulmonary venous connection is a rare cyanotic congenital heart disease of usual diagnosis in childhood. We reported a 46 year-old male patient with class II dyspnea of 6 month of evolution, referred with a diagnosis of interatrial communication for surgical treatment.

The evaluation by the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Service with color Doppler transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography and multidetector computed tomography showed intracardiac total anomalous pulmonary venous return into the coronary sinus. Corrective surgery was performed successfully, with favorable evolution during short-term follow-up.
