Abstract

It is well known that eating disorders causes malnutrition and have devastating effects on cardiovascular, endocrine, digestive and neurological system.
This case is about a patient with anorexia nervosa that belongs to the 22% of patients that, due to hipoproteinemia, develop pericardial effusion. Even if it is large, according to its aetiology, the patient has bradycardia and none signs of hemodynamic instability. Finally, thanks to a weight gain, it decreases significantly and the patient is discharged.
