Abstract

Kawasaki disease is the first cause of coronary aneurysms in childhood and the second one after atherosclerosis in adults. Overall, coronary aneurysms are an infrequent entity and despite most of them are asymptomatic, a scarce percentage can lead to major adverse cardiovascular events, and even to death. For this reason, selected patients require a close follow-up and the implementation of therapeutic decisions that should be carefully analyzed about the risk/benefit towards the patient. However, there is no clear scientific evidence based on clinical control trials and methanalysis.
