Arrhythmia-induced tachycardiomyopathy or cardiomyopathy is a clinical situation in which the function of the heart is compromised by the presence of a rapid and sustained heart rhythm, such as a very high extrasystolic load, sustained ventricular tachycardia, or atrial fibrillation with elevated ventricular responsiveness. These persistent rapid rhythms may be a cause of cardiac dysfunction. Patients may experience symptoms of heart failure and eventually hypotension or shock. Treatment is based on controlling the heart rate, restoring normal heart rhythm and addressing any predisposing underlying heart disease. In some cases, ablation may be necessary to interrupt
the arrhythmia and restore normal cardiac function. Definitive management includes a combination of pharmacological reatment, nonpharmacological interventions, and clinical follow-up to improve long-term outcomes
