Prosthetic valve endocarditis is a complication that must be diagnosed early and treated surgically, depending on the case. The most common sites affected are the aortic valve, followed by the interventricular septum, the mitral valves, and the papillary muscles. The transesophageal echocardiogram is crucial to recognize the mechanical complications that can be found. In this paper, we report a 63-year-old female patient who presented with infectious symptoms and acute heart failure, whose imaging tests showed a combination of biologic aortic valve prosthesis dysfunction, pseudoaneurysm, and ruptured aortic periprosthetic abscess.Downloads
