Abstract

Scleroderma affects the heart in many ways and in a great percentage of cases. Clinical manifestations range from alterations in the conduction system to ventricular dysfunction or pulmonary hypertension. We present a case of scleroderma with cardiac involvement. In this clinical case, we will explain the role of cardiac magnetic resonance for the diagnosis of the different heart injuries. Furthermore, we will explain the usefulness of cardiac MRI as an early marker of cardiac involvement in less advanced cases and the prognostic value of some parameters such as T1 and T2 mapping.
