Despite being a rare pathology, infective endocarditis continues to be a public health problem, with high morbidi-ty and mortality rates worldwide. Approximately 10% of cases suppose a real diagnostic challenge given that they are produced by atypical microorganisms that do not grow in conventional culture methods, do not present typical imaging findings and because they usually present in a more advanced and complicated form. We introduced a case report that reflexes how infective endocarditis due to Coxiella burnetii, an atypical microorganism, can develop.
