Abstract

Clinical or symptomatic thrombosis after transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is rare and typically occurs  in less than 1 % of implanted patients, however when it does occur it is associated with serious complications including stroke, cardiogenic shock, and death. We present the case of a patient with a percutaneous prosthesis and a history of neoplasia, who presented an event of prosthetic thrombosis, requiring in-hospital management. The  objective of this case is to show that the incidence of prosthetic valve thrombosis after TAVR remains an unresolved  issue, which is facing us with new diagnostic challenges.
