Laubry-Pezzi syndrome is a rare congenital entity, described as a prolapse of an aortic valve leaflet due to an underlying ventricular septal defect. Some cases diagnosed by echocardiography, but not by cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), are described in the literature. We report the case of a 26-year-old patient, with 2 years of diagnosis of aortic insufficiency and heart failure of valvular origin, in whom a defect in the interventricular septum was detected by cardiac MRI. This syndrome is unusual in adults and, moreover, to date, no cases have been described using MRI, a highly effective method for detecting cardiac defects.
