Adaptation to sport versus cardiomyopathy: How to distinguish them?
DOI:

sport, athlete's heart, cardiomyopathy.Abstract
High-intensity sport can produce risky situations, even fatal, in subjects with cardiovascular anomalies, therefore,
an early diagnosis of heart disease is essential to reduce risk. Cardiological assessment in athletes requires a careful and detailed interpretation of cardiac adaptations to training, being necessary to recognize the athlete's heart so as not to limit sports participation, especially in borderline cases, and avoid truncating their sports life with the consequent detriment in all aspects of the athlete's life.
