Abstract

Anomalous origin of the left coronary artery (LCA left coronary artery) in the pulmonary artery (PA) (ALCAPA), , is a rare congenital anomaly, with an incidence of 1 in 300,000 live births and represents 0.4% of congenital heart abnormalities. It is the result of an abnormal septation of the cone arteriosus or the persistence of pulmonary buds together with the involution of the aortic buds that eventually form the coronary arteries. We present a case in which cardiac magnetic resonance was the main diagnostic method.
