Abstract

Classically, the diagnosis of cardiac myxoma is based on transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, and in general it does not offer much difficulty, if the presentation is typical; however, sometimes, other imaging modalities are used to “confirm” or “ensure” the diagnosis, without explore all the options offered by echocardiography, with new and old techniques, that are usually underused. We present a typical case of myxoma, with some echocardiographic findings that go beyond the simple finding of a cardiac mass.
