Abstract

We report two cases of two children with an initial diagnosis of ventricular septal defect with subpulmonary stenosis. Echocardiography showed a possible ventricular septal defect with some peculiarities that required more imaging studies. These data had a central role for the differential diagnosis of a congenital left ventricular outpouching located at basal septum below the aortic valve that included the diverticulum or an accessory chamber of the left ventricle. Both patients underwent a surgical correction. The operative findings confirmed the diagnosis of left ventricular diverticulum
